When people hear about AgentCompile, two questions come up. Here are the short answers.
Is this a cache?
No. A cache replays old answers. AgentCompile learns the job, so it handles new customers, new orders and new details.
Is this fine-tuning?
No. Your model stays exactly as it is. AgentCompile decides when a call to it isn't needed.
What your agent sees
For anything new, unclear or unusual, the same request it gets today, unchanged. When AgentCompile hands a conversation back, your agent gets the whole conversation so far. For known jobs, your agent's model isn't called.
What it is
An SDK that wraps your agent's model client. It learns the jobs your agent repeats from your agent's own history, proves each one on that history, and runs them compiled. Your agent is always the fallback.
Side by side
Without AgentCompile
- A cache: replays an old answer when the same input comes back. A new order number is a miss.
- Fine-tuning: changes your model's weights, and every call still goes to the model.
With AgentCompile
- AgentCompile learns the job, so new customers, orders and details are handled.
- Your model stays exactly as it is; AgentCompile decides when a call to it isn't needed.
Why the difference matters
Agent work almost never repeats word for word. Two customers asking about two orders send different requests, so replaying old answers would rarely help, and would be wrong when it did. What repeats is the job. That's the level AgentCompile works at.
Fine-tuning tries to make the model better at the job, but the model is still called every time. AgentCompile leaves the model alone and takes the known jobs off its plate. The two can live together: a fine-tuned model is still just the model your agent calls for everything else.
