# What's new in AgentCompile.

Every release of the SDK, in Python and TypeScript, newest first.

## Personal data scrubbed on your machine

In review / Python 0.4.0, TypeScript, next

With capture on, emails, payment cards, phone numbers and account numbers become keyed tokens on your machine before anything is sent. The same value always gives the same token, so a conversation still adds up. Order numbers and other ids are left alone.

- On by default whenever capture is on.
- The scrubbing key stays with you. Set the same AGENTCOMPILE_SCRUB_KEY on every server so tokens match.

## The SDK for TypeScript

October 1, 2026 / TypeScript 0.1.0

Wrap the OpenAI or Anthropic client your agent already uses. Only create() is intercepted; everything else on the client is untouched.

- wrap() for openai and @anthropic-ai/sdk.
- conversation() covers every call inside it, across awaits.
- Compiled answers come back in the provider's own shape, streamed or not.
- mode: "shadow" to watch what AgentCompile would do while your model answers.
- timeoutMs: how long to wait for a decision before failing open to your model.
- trail and onEvent: every call logged on your machine.
- capture, off by default, and flush() for short scripts.
- Node 20 or newer. ESM and CommonJS, with types, and no runtime dependencies.

```bash
npm install agentcompile
```

## Capture, when you turn it on

October 1, 2026 / Python 0.3.0

capture=True sends each call's request and answer in the background, so AgentCompile can find the jobs your agent repeats. It never slows a call: a full queue drops the oldest, and failures are counted, never raised.

- Off by default. AGENTCOMPILE_CAPTURE=1 turns it on.
- agentcompile.flush() sends queued calls before a short script exits. It also runs at exit.

```bash
pip install agentcompile==0.3.0
```

## Decisions stay in the trail

October 1, 2026 / Python 0.2.1

Fix: AgentCompile's decision events now stay in the trail, so agentcompile trail shows where each call went and why.

## agentcompile --version

October 1, 2026 / Python 0.2.0

The command line tells you which version you have.

```bash
agentcompile --version
```

## The Cookbook

October 1, 2026 / Docs

Every example in Python and TypeScript, ready to copy, at /cookbook. Agents can read it as markdown at /cookbook.md.

## The SDK for Python

October 1, 2026 / Python 0.1.0

Wrap the OpenAI or Anthropic client your agent already uses. Your loop doesn't change, and your provider key never leaves your process.

- wrap() for openai and anthropic, sync and async, with streaming and tool calls.
- agentcompile.conversation() sets the conversation for a block of calls, or pass conversation_id on a call.
- Every call takes a route: compiled, forwarded, fail-open, shadow or no-conversation.
- It fails open: slow, unreachable or unusable, and the call goes to your model as normal.
- mode="shadow" decides but always calls your model, so you can see what it would have done.
- A trail on your machine, and agentcompile trail to read it.
- Python 3.9 or newer.

```bash
pip install agentcompile
```
